Homecoming looks a little different this year
A spectre is haunting Weston High School, the spectre of Homecoming!
WHS’s Homecoming 2026 includes several major events: the homecoming football game, the powerpuff game, deck the doors, dress up days leading up to homecoming, and a newly added Fall Fest.
The brand new Fall Festival was added to Homecoming festivities this year. “The student government decided to add the fall fest because we thought it was a great way to help drive up school spirit and bring the WHS community together,” says student government secretary, Surayya Chaudrey ’27. “It’s also a great opportunity for various clubs to host fundraising events, further promote their clubs, and show off their school spirit.”
The fall festival took place on WHS’s stadium field on Saturday October 17th from 2:00PM to 6:00PM. It had games, activities, food, sports, and live music. There was a prize system, which works as a type of raffle upon completing multiple games of different categories. Prizes included a tv, a speaker, and gift cards.
The week of October 19th to October 23rd continues to have dress up days, with the themes being: Monday: Pajama day; Tuesday: Anything but a backpack day; Wednesday: Pink out, Thursday; Twin day, and Friday will be color clash. For color clash, every grade wears their own colors, with seniors being blue, juniors wear, white, sophomores wearing black and freshmen wearing gold.
The Deck the doors competition where all grades dress their pact rooms up based on their grades designated theme happened on Wednesday, Oct. 21 during PACT. A winner will be chosen from each grade, and then one overall winner will be chosen.
The Powerpuff game has junior girls and senior girls battle it out in a flag football game on the Weston football field. How about a mention of Owen Beer’s (‘26) favorite part, “ The Floats.” During half-time a parade will be held where each grade has their own floats – the designs of the floats are inspired off each grade’s theme. The game will be held on Friday October 23rd as a last period PACT.
The Homecoming football game is a home game, with Weston High School facing Bethel. This football game is not only the homecoming game, but is also a pink out game, which is a themed event in support of breast cancer awareness, meaning that funding from sources such as tickets will be donated to local cancer centers, sent directly to families in need, or national organizations such as the American Cancer Society or the Young Women’s Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation. In pink out games students, attendees, and players dress head to toe in pink for the event. It occurs at 6:30PM on October 23rd and is a home game. If you are a student, as long as you bring your student ID you get in for free, otherwise tickets may be purchased at gofan.co.
Clearly, Weston High School has many opportunities to celebrated its Trojan Pride during Homecoming Week.
