Binge-worthy show: Gilmore Girls
Maybe you weren’t around in the year 2000 to experience the goodness of Gilmore Girls the first time it aired. If that’s the case, you’re in luck because Netflix is streaming the series and it is well worth binge watching.
First run on the WB network, Gilmore Girls stars Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel and follows a mother, Lorelai Gilmore, who’s trying to make the best life for her daughter Rory, who dreams of going to Harvard. Lorelai had given birth to Rory when she was just 16 years old and never had the best relationship with her parents, Emily and Richard Gilmore (Kelly Bishop and Edward Hermann). Shortly after giving birth, she ran away with Rory and moved to a small town called Stars Hollow, Connecticut, where Rory was raised.
Lorelai is a loving mother with a coffee addiction who dreams that her daughter Rory will have a better life than she did. When Rory gets accepted into a private school named Chilton, Loralai must turn to her parents to help pay for tuition who insist that they want to play a bigger role in Lorelai and Rory’s life.
Lorelai and Rory both share their love for food and coffee and they also share boy problems. Throughout the show, both girls have dated a few men that fans either love or hate and everyone still questions which of Rory’s boyfriends were the best.
Lorelai works at an inn with her best friend, The head chef, Sookie, (Melissa McCarthy) and Michel, (Yanic Truesdale). Other stars hollow residents include the diner owner Luke (Scott Patterson), Rory’s best friend Lane (Keiko Agena), Town selectman and owner of Doose’s market, Taylor Doose, (Micheal Winters), and Kirk, (Sean Gunn) and many more characters throughout the town of Star Hollow.
If you enjoy heartwarming comedies that can make you laugh and cry at the same time then you will love Gilmore Girls.
