All My Sons debuted on November 10, 11, and 12 at Weston High School.
The play describes the lives of the Keller family after losing one of their sons in WWII. Joe Keller is the patriarch who lives comfortably with his wife Kate and son Chris in typical American suburbia, but despite their comfortable life they cannot overcome the tragic loss of their son Larry.
The Weston High School adaption starred Thomas Valenti as Joe Keller, Jane Burdett as Kate and David Katz as Chris.
Garrett Landen, a member of Company, describes working on the set as an enthralling experience. “Everyone really liked working on the show, and although the topic was depressing, helping to work on the set was really a good experience,” Landen said.
The play itself went phenomenally. All the advertising in the weeks leading up to it was for good reason; the play was not one to be missed. Burdett’s performance as Kate was riveting, and deserved all the applause given afterwards.
The choice of All My Sons follows in line with the choice of other dramas in the past. A few years ago, Weston debuted The Laramie Project, which was also heartbreaking and based off of a true event.
“Seeing All My Sons was a really good experience. I’m glad I went,” said Emma Rogers, a junior.
Weston High School’s next performance is South Pacific, debuting March 22-25, 2018.
