Highly Motivated Girls Volleyball
The Weston High School Girls Volleyball team has started up its season, training hard at practice in preparation for another winning season! From their incredible performance last year winning both SWC and State Championships and making WHS Volleyball History, the team is highly motivated and excited to see what the season brings! Led by coaches Maddy Gale and Sam Wikman as well as captains Kelly O’Carmody, Josie Smith and Catilyn McKiernan, the group is well equipped!
The Warhorse had the pleasure of speaking with the captains about this fall season. Here is what they have to say, “Our team is determined, committed, and incredibly enthusiastic. All of us are stepping up to fill the roles of the seniors that we lost last year and I can already tell that we are going to have a successful season. We’re striving to make runs in both the SWC and Class M State tournaments, but also to be competitive in each and every one of our games. This program means a lot to us and we are so lucky to be a part of it. The group of girls that we have is very tight-knit and our chemistry is unmatched. We always have fun together, both on and off the court. Looking forward to another great season! Show out to support volleyball at our next home game!”
Not only is the Weston Girls Volleyball Team a very successful program but they also produce very successful athletes like Sydney Lyon who is now playing Volleyball at Wheaton College! She was recently ranked in the NEWMAC for #3 service aces per set. Go Sydney!
The Warhorse wishes the best of luck to the girls this season! Come to see the team in action at their next home game! Go Trojans!
