Weston Field Hockey off to Strong Start
Weston Field Hockey is off to a great start this fall season with a strong record of 3-2 with wins against Lauralton Hall, Brian McMahon, and Fairfield Warde. The team also won their preseason win against Shepaug Valley to start the season off strong. This blows their previous record of 1-15 from the 2021 season out of the water.
Although the girls faced loss against New Milford and Immaculate, they did not lose their spirits. Captain Francesca Gardell says: “I think our attitude towards the sport has really changed compared to previous years. This year we have really focused on not letting the scoreboard dictate our playing, and keeping our heads up the whole game.”
Weston Field Hockey will face New Milford again on October 3 on their home turf with more determination than ever, go support the girls to take back the win they deserve.
Let’s hope that this new and positive attitude towards Weston Field Hockey can withstand the rest of the season and bring the girls to the State and SWC tournaments. Make sure to support the up-and-coming team at their next home game against Masuk at 5:30, see you at the lower turf!
