Girls Tennis Team is Ready to Roll!

With the winter season coming to a close, Spring Athletics are beginning to ramp up!

Last year’s successes bring excitement among the Girls Tennis Team, and they are eager to get back on the court. Winning their SWC championship and getting to state finals last season but falling short to Joel Barlow High School brings hope to bring back a win for Weston this season.

Sisterhood and teamwork play an essential role in the girl’s successes. Captain Megan Shanahan explains, “Since I didn’t have a tennis season freshman year because of covid, last year was technically my first year playing with the team. I’ve never had as much fun and loved a group of girls more, and I cannot wait to see what this season brings!”

Sophomore Elena Negri says, “I couldn’t have asked for a better debut to the team as a freshman last year and am so grateful to have been a part of the success we had. The girls were all so welcoming and the comradery of our team is bound to drive us toward another spectacular season. I can’t wait to finally get back on the courts and hopefully bring back some more hardware!”

Wishing the girls the best of luck this season! Go Trojans!
